Small Business Saturday: Dynamic Indoor Soccer | Katy Moms
Small Business Saturday Featuring Dynamic Indoor Soccer

Dynamic Indoor Soccer is a family owned business In Katy with a passion for all things sports related, especially soccer. Having lived in Katy for 20+ years, Irene Alvarez and her husband saw a need in the community. They needed an indoor sports field offered year round, rain or shine, for all ages to enjoy. So they opened their doors in June of 2017 and haven’t slowed down since! They offer two indoor fields where the community can play soccer, futsal, football, as well as many other sports and fitness related activities. Their dedicated staff brings knowledge, passion, dedication and fun into the fields!
Irene says they pride themselves on their wide range of offerings. From fitness classes to birthday parties, to open field for play, there’s something for all ages.
We chatted with the woman behind it all about her passion for this business, why they chose this community to open their business, and even snagged a special discount for our Katy mamas!

When did you start your business?

We opened June 9th, 2017!

What was the inspiration behind starting your business?

We saw the need to create a safe and fun facility for the entire family to play sports! We are air-conditioned so the Texas summer heat doesn’t ever get in our way! We also noticed how many youth soccer games kept getting canceled because of the heavy rains that usually occur in our city so we figured Dynamic could be a good back-up plan for many local clubs to practice and keep their games as scheduled.

You’re a family owned business- who are the people behind the business?

My husband and I! We are still a pretty small team and very much involved in the day-to-day operations, but we also have our soccer coach Andres on our side and Valeria will be joining us soon as our certified fitness instructor!

Tell us a little bit about Dynamic Indoor Soccer!

We are a family owned business that serve the Katy community for all things indoor sports! We focus on indoor soccer but are branching out to other sports such as cross training.

Name one thing that makes you unique in your space or industry?

We make it a point to make the place as family friendly as possible. We have books, large TVs, and PlayStations for the little ones to play while their older siblings train soccer. We also pride ourselves in treating our customers as family. The children from our youth academy know me and my husband personally and we love talking and getting to know each and every parent.

Your company goes beyond soccer fields with birthday party options, boot camps, and corporate events? Tell us more about the range of offerings you’ve got!

We believe the sky is the limit! We have two futsal-sized fields that can be used for many things. We’ve had people rent our fields for flag football, bubble soccer, archery tag and more.
We also offer pick-up games on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights.
Our fields are always open, rain or shine!

What’s your favorite thing about being a business owner in Katy?

We love how tight and supportive the community is. There’s also a lot of potential and opportunity to grow in Katy! My husband grew up in Katy and I moved here in 2009 so we see Katy as much more than just a business location, Katy is our home.

How has the Katy area community had an impact on your business?

We love when other local business owners visit us! We’ve worked with local restaurants and churches to help them plan their events. We’ve also had many parents refer us to their friends and that is the greatest compliment you can give any business.

Who’s someone you look up to in the business world?

I personally look up to successful business women such as Sara Blakely, Jessica Alba, and Oprah. I love reading their stories and seeing how the road to success is filled with ups and downs, yet they were persistent and became who they are today.

What’s one thing you’d like to go back and tell the you before you were a business owner?

Learn how to ride the crazy rollercoaster that is to own your own business. Some days are amazing and some days you feel very low so it’s important to always believe in yourself and your idea.

Advice for anyone wanting to start their own business?

Just do it! I tend to overthink things a lot so for me it was tough to get started.
Also, be passionate about your business idea. You will work many hours but it is all worth it in the end.

When things get hard, what’s one thing you tell yourself to keep going when running a business?

Tomorrow will be a different day with different opportunities. It has happened to us so much this last year that one door closes and literally the next day or so another one opens!

How do you all balance your bustling business with keeping family time a priority?

We don’t have children yet but we’ve sacrificed quite some social time with our friends so we make an effort to be present during important life events, birthday parties and such. Our family also supports us 100% and they all live in Katy so they are always stopping by and helping us every way they can.

Future plans for your business?

Keep growing! We want to grow our youth soccer academy, and we are very happy about our addition of fitness classes for adults!
