Meet A Mom: Susan Mobley, Katy Mompreneur & Brand Influencer
It’s Meet A Mom Monday! Juuuust kidding, it’s Tuesday, but with kids out of school for MLK, today’s our Monday! And today we’re so excited to introduce you to Susan! She’s a born and bred Houstonian and has called Katy home since 1999!
When we talk about some of our earliest supporters in this Katy Moms Network community, Susan’s definitely one of them. A mamapreneur herself, supporting other women who are following a passion is something she absolutely shines at.
Susan has been in Network Marketing for six years and when she found Revital U in 2017, she couldn’t stop raving to her close friends and family about the benefits and decided to make a business out of it!
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the Katy area?
I am one of those rare native Houstonians. I was born and raised in Memorial and graduated from Stratford high school. I moved to Katy in 1999, when I got married…back when there was no Grand Parkway!
How many kiddos do you have and how old are they?
I have two kiddos…My oldest is Cole and he is 14. My daughter, Jordan is 10. Then of course, Marley and Zoey are my furry babies who are 2 and their younger brother Charlie is a one year old goldendoodle.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
That I am a nerd. I actually graduated number one in my college class but I am proud of my nerd status, lol.
Favorite local things to do in Katy?
We love walking around La Centerra. There is a great variety of restaurants and shopping for the 3 of us. We also enjoy the Fulshear Farmers market but don’t get to it often enough. I love my weekly lunch date with my girlfriends at Local Table as well.
What’s your favorite thing about raising a family in Katy?
Being around like-minded people. Most people in Katy tend to be families and you can feel that vibe most places that you go. I have to admit that not having to pay for private school is nice as well lol…we love our Katy ISD
Do you have a favorite family friendly restaurant in the area?
We have a few…all 3 of us enjoy Local Table. My son is definitely the foodie of the family and enjoys checking out new places recommended on the katy foodie fb page. If we are in the mood for something sweet, we can’t say no to Proud Pie or The Sweet Tooth in Fulshear. If my son has an early dismissal Friday, we often enjoy pork chop Friday at Perry’s.
What is your go-to activity for yourself for pampering or for fun?
Being a single mom, I have to remind myself that it is ok to pamper myself from time to time. I have to say that I enjoy a nice massage at Massage Envy or getting a mani pedi at Posh Nails in Fulshear. My best therapy is definitely my workouts at Lifetime though.
Funniest shortcut/routine for helping you through parenthood?
I try to get backpacks ready the night before. Also, making a breakfast casserole Sunday night is a great way to have a hearty breakfast ready for the week. And if that doesn’t pan out, grab a yogurt and let them eat it in the car on the way to school, lol.
Best mom hack that makes life easier?
Hands down, without a doubt… ALARMS ON MY PHONE!! Seriously!! I would forget to wake my kids up, take them to school, pick them up, make an appointment…you name it, if I set an alarm for it, it gets done!
Tell us about being a Brand Influencer with Revital U. How long have you been with the company? And, why are you so passionate about it?
I have been in network marketing for about 6 years. During that time I have had some amazing success and a few failures. I have tried to learn from both. I joined Revital U in September of 2017. I personally have suffered with hypothyroidism. I had gained about 40 pounds very quickly and could not lose the weight for over a year. I was also EXHAUSTED!! I would nap every single day and still feel worn out. I tried Revital U coffee(after seeing a friend post about it), even though I was not a coffee drinker, and within a few days I was no longer needing my naps. I finally was able to be present with my kids and not just counting the minutes until their bedtime. The most amazing thing started to happen as well, I began to lose weight. I was not changing my diet but simply having my Revital U each morning. After just a few months I was down almost 30 pounds and have since lost almost 40 pounds. That definitely began my passion but I had realized that from past experiences, that joining a company at the ground floor was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I signed up and have never looked back. I am now a Regional Brand Influencer and lead a team of over 4000. My passion is with seeing my team succeed. I love my team fiercely and I would not have the success I am having without them. There is no greater joy than seeing someone succeed in this industry who thought they could never do it. Revital U is The Sample First company and honestly, needs to be in a different category because it is not the usual network marketing way. I quickly realized that our CEO was in total alignment with my beliefs and values. He is creating a life of abundance for so many and that is what I want to do. I recently returned from the first Why University training in Laguna Beach, California and it was such an honor to be one of 15 out of 19,000 Brand Influencers chosen to go. The fact that I am able to give back to so many both through improving people’s health and financial freedom is such a gift. Most of all I love that I can literally work my business from my phone and be a present mom to my kiddos.
What Revital U product is your favorite and how has it changed your life and your client’s lives?
When I joined the company in September of 2017, we only had our Smart Coffee. As I said before, I was one of the odd 17 percent of people that don’t drink coffee. I was able to make some yummy recipes and enjoy my smart coffee iced. Then, I was super excited when we came out with smart capsules but my absolute favorite now is our Smart Cocoa. It is so yummy and rich and I can’t believe that I am able to lose weight drinking it. It is great because all 3 products do the same thing, you just get to decide how you want to consume it. Just as I had the amazing relief from my hypothyroidism, I love getting daily texts, emails and calls from my current customers who are experiencing some of the same benefits. I had a young mom who did not need the weight management but was loving the sustained energy she was having each day. I had a gentleman who had such amazing success with it that after losing 40 pounds joined my team. I can honestly say that everyone responds a little differently and enjoys different benefits, that is what I love about the products. Regardless of what you are looking for, it can help with weight management, increased energy, mental clarity and better mood health.
Best advice for working moms who experience the inevitable and dreaded MOM GUILT?
Definitely to not beat yourself up. As a single mom, I juggle a lot of roles and try to balance our lives but it is definitely not easy. For me, I try to include my kids into my work as much as possible so that they can really understand all that I am doing to try to provide a better life for us. I do mainly work from my phone and I hear from my kids, “mom put down your phone” which then makes me feel guilty for working. I have to remind them that mommy works from her phone but at the same time I want them to feel like I am being present. There is no magic formula but I think that being honest with your kids about why you do what you do helps out a lot. I think that at the end of the day, my kids are proud of me and I know that I want them to see me succeed.
Who has most influenced you to be the mom you are today?
This is the easiest question to answer and that would be my amazing mom. She is the most selfless and loving person you could ever meet. I am the youngest of 4 kids and she has given each of us an amazing life. She was the mom that all my friends wish they had. Our home was that go to home and I hope that I am creating the same in our home. She is so patient and kind that if I am even a quarter of the mom she has been to me that I feel that I will be a successful mom. There are not enough lifetimes to thank her for all that she has done for me and my brothers and sister. She still questions if she has been a good enough mom to us and that is always shocking to me. I guess even the greatest people sometimes question themselves. So, when I find myself questioning my parenting I remember that my mom still does the same. I love her unconditionally and I know that she loves us unconditionally and I think there is no greater gift that you can give your children.
When parenting gets hard, what’s something you tell yourself that gets you through?
Breath and that I might not have loved how my parenting went today but all I can do is make TOMORROW better.
What would you tell the old “You” before you had kids?
To enjoy sleeping in, lol! Also, to not be so hard on myself and that I do not have to be perfect just be the perfect version of me.
