Small Business Saturday: Evolve Lagree
Just last weekend, Evolve Lagree, had their Grand Opening event here in Katy! They are located off FM 1463, and have generated tons of buzz. Evolve Lagree is Katy’s first megaformer studio! Lagree is a high intensity, low impact muscular endurance training. Brooke Stelzel is the owner of the studio, and is so excited to be open and bringing this workout to Katy! We sat down with Brooke to learn more about Evolve Lagree, her inspiration behind opening this studio, and how she balances being a business owner and still working full time in the corporate world!

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the Katy/Houston area?
I was born and raised in East Bernard, super small town southwest of Houston. People typically haven’t heard of it unless they love hunting or delicious kolaches. I went to college at Texas A&M and then started my career in Houston, so I’ve always been in the “bubble” of Houston.
What did you do before opening your business?
I (still) work in global logistics for a Fortune 500 freight forwarder. I’m the export manager for our Houston branch and oversee the operation and business development for our Houston area clients exporting internationally.
When did you open the door at Evolve Lagree?
July 13 was our official grand opening!
What was the inspiration behind starting your business?
The Lagree method changed my life and I couldn’t wait to share it with everyone. It’s just so dang effective. I fell in love with the workout at Wicked Core in the Woodlands and have been chasing the dream of opening this studio ever since.
Tell us more about Evolve Lagree, what makes it unique, and all the classes you offer!
All of our current classes are called Megaformer 45 which means 45 minutes on the Megaformer. All classes are instructor led and safe for all fitness levels. As the community becomes more familiar with Lagree we will start offering more specific classes geared toward beginner, intermediate and advanced. We are here to listen to you! Let us know what you want to see on the schedule and we will do our best to accommodate. One of our instructors is really pushing for the arms and abs class coming soon ☺
This method is safe and effective, the moves are slow but the results are fast which makes it so addicting. You feel it working immediately which keeps you motivated to come back for more.
Have you always been into fitness and health? When did that begin for you?
I played sports growing up, but didn’t stick to any sort of routine as my work life became busier. I found Lagree on ClassPass and quickly knew that this was a workout I could show up for religiously. It’s a continuous battle to stay on the healthy track with diet and exercise. I can’t give up good food and wine, so I take more Lagree classes to keep those things in my life ☺
What’s the best fitness/health advice you ever got?
Do what feels right for you. It’s not about what shape you start in, or what you can physically endure. Evolve Lagree is about celebrating the success of transformation and the journey to get better together, no matter where you’re starting from.
How has the Katy area community had an impact on your business?
I love this area. It gives you that small town vibe with the options and convenience of the city. Everyone is so supportive and inclusive which really makes us excited to be a part of it.
Advice for anyone wanting to start their own business?
Jump! Maintaining a full time corporate job while deciding to open the studio has been a challenge, but totally worth it. This has been a brainchild for over almost 2 years, but I wasn’t pulling the trigger. I didn’t want to wake up one day and wonder “what if” so I buckled down and went for it. Make connections with the local partners in your industry or complimentary ones. Celebrate your network, my tribe is big and supportive. Everywhere I’ve turned, I’ve had people willing to help with whatever they can. It makes a huge difference to feel like you’re not in it by yourself.
Future plans for your business?
All of our efforts are in getting this studio full of good vibes. We would love to open more locations to meet the needs of each pocket of the Katy/ Fulshear area so hopefully exciting things to come in the future!
