Meet a Mom – Jasmine Camble | Katy Moms
Meet Jasmine, CEO & Owner of Let’s Party HTX, Your Go-To Party Planning Resource

We first connected with this talented mama when she invited us to her home a couple of months ago to enjoy a fun, intimate event in honor of National Ice Cream Day. We had no idea what to expect other than it was a slumber party theme and to bring our daughters and be ready to be delighted. And delighted we were! We were simply blown away by her take on the ultimate sleep over, ice cream party, and left feeling so spoiled rotten! We got to enjoy a day with our daughters in matching pajamas, got to meet other mama bloggers from the Houston area, as well as learn about all the amazing party vendors Houston has to offer.
And this was Jasmine’s entire goal in launching her business, Let’s Party HTX. She wanted to connect people to the best vendors to make their events one for the books! Think of her business as your one-stop-shop resource to throwing the best party- providing you with the best of the best party professionals, event vendors & venues in Houston.
Always loving a good party to throw and even having a successful past career in planning events in the corporate world, Jasmine has connected with some talented, amazing vendors throughout the years. However, she quickly learned there was a need- there wasn’t just one resource in Houston that you could utilize to source them all. She created this business to help people like DIY party planners, local party hosts, corporate event managers, everyday moms, etc. identify and discover the most unique and special event professionals in Houston to help make their party and event planning dreams come through. From fire eaters and swimming mermaids, to balloon artists and rental companies, Jasmine gives you access to the most unique options!
Jasmine truly has a gift in what she does and we’re so excited to share a little bit of her story with you today! Check out our interview with this creative mama below!

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the Houston area?

From Baton Rouge, LA. I’ve lived in the Houston area since 2006…nearly 14 years. I’m a Houstonian.

How many kiddos do you have and how old are they?

My son, Xavier Cole, is 9 years old. My daughter, Mia Grace, will be 1 tomorrow (Sept. 17th) and we have one on the way…due March 2020! Ahhh!!!

Least favorite mom job? (i.e. packing lunches, dishes, bath time, etc.)

Folding clothes

Best mom hack that makes life easier?

Whatever saves you time and your sanity. Lol. For full-time working mamas, make the crockpot your very best friend.

What are your favorite local things to do? (with kiddos or just for mom!)

Our favorite local spots are Miller Outdoor Theater, Boardwalk at Towne Lake and The Showboat Drive-In in Hockley. We love outdoor festivals and listening to live music.

We’re big on self-care for moms, as hard as it is to find the time, what’s something you do just or yourself?

I get mani/pedis every two weeks. That is my time to relax and regroup. If I have free-time at home after the kids go to bed, I usually watch some reality TV show. The mindless and funny entertainment takes my my mind off other priorities for just an hour. It’s a reset. If I’m in traffic alone in the car, I also listen to prank calls on YouTube. It’s a hilarious reminder to lighten up and have fun. Laughter is good for my soul.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I collect wrapping paper and once wanted to start a local gift wrapping business. Even though I am horrible at actually wrapping the paper itself, I’m obsessed with beautiful paper and love to adorn gifts with personal touches.

Tell us about your business, Let’s Party HTX! When did you get started?

Let’s Party HTX is a referral resource and directory of event vendors, venues and professionals in the Greater Houston, Texas area. We help local party hosts and DIY event planners (professional and nonprofessional) connect with these local and unique vendors and give them the confidence they need to plan an amazing celebration. Although the dream of Let’s Party HTX began in my heart over a decade ago, I didn’t actually put action behind my dream until March of 2019. My focus had been on building my family and after several pregnancy losses, I felt that I lacked the confidence to put my faith in action. After giving birth to our rainbow baby, here I am years later starting a business that I now wish I would have started years ago. Lol.

What was the inspiration behind starting Let’s Party HTX?

I planned corporate events professionally, and even though I had a network of select vendors that I liked to use, there were times that I required different services. I found that there was not a one-stop shop location to source all of the possible party and event vendors available for hire in Houston. I sought out an opportunity to create that resource. I wanted to create a platform to highlight all of the amazingly creative party and event professionals in the Houston area from a local’s perspective. There are hundreds and hundreds of entrepreneurs out there with great services, but need a platform to highlight it. There are thousands and thousands of party and event planners whether professionally or not that want to hire really awesome vendors to meet their party needs.

What different services do you offer?

We offer party consultation services that are perfect for the DIY party mom that likes to plan their own events, but just need some ideas, inspiration, help with theme and décor selection or vendor/venue referrals. We do the party research. You plan the party. We all celebrate. This is ideal for the type of person who still wants to be very hands on in the planning of their own event, but needs someone to bounce ideas off or or just don’t have the time to vet through all of the party vendor options. We’ve also had clients that come to us with a theme and just want us to find really cool and unique party elements for them that will wow their guests.

Have you always loved parties? What has been your favorite party you have either attended or hosted?

Yes, I have always loved parties, but more specifically…I love celebrating. There’s something special about coming together with friends and family to acknowledge an achievement or milestone and make memories together to last a lifetime. My favorite party that I’ve ever hosted was my oldest child’s first birthday. I had been planning corporate events professionally for years, but to actually plan my first child’s birthday was so special. We rented a suite at Minute Maid stadium during off-season and hosted a baseball themed party for him. We had the Astros’ mascot deliver a cake, sing happy birthday and play games with the kids in the suite. Afterwards, our guests even got to go down on the field while it was empty to experience a tour and throw baseballs around. It was a magical experience for the parents and kids alike. All of our guests signed a note of love on an engraved baseball bat for my son, and it’s still hanging in his room today.

What did you do before starting your business?

My degree is Marketing. I began my career as an Events Marketing Manager and have been working in various Corporate Marketing Communication and Advertising roles for the last 13 years.

Best advice for moms who experience the inevitable and dreaded MOM GUILT?

Mom guilt is real. Just be the best you that you can possibly be. Try not to compare yourself to others and your kids with other kids. We all experience mom guilt, but know that it OK to take care of yourself. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Also, pick your “battles”. Not everything can get done in one day, one week, one month etc. Start with the highest priority, life-changing things first and set your priorities from there. Celebrate your victories big or small.

Who has most influenced you to be the mom you are today?

My mom. She’s the kindest, most giving and selfless person that I know. Not just with her family, but with everyone. I grew up seeing her live a life of service or sacrifice, so she laid the blueprint on not only how to be a mom but a kind human in general.

When parenting gets hard, what’s something you tell yourself that gets you through?

When parenting gets hard, I remind myself that “To whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48).” Being a parent is truly a gift and I think back to the days that I used to pray for this gift. So, it becomes a quick reminder of you can do this girl, you’ve got this, knock it out.

What are your future plans for Let’s Party HTX?

I plan to launch a website that will categorize and list party and event vendors in the Greater Houston Texas area available for hire. You’ll be able to search by vendor type, location, and other parameters, see photos and read reviews about these vendors as well. Let’s Party HTX will also host interactive vendor showcases and expos for the general public. If you are planning an event or party, you can visit our expo to meet and experience all of the really awesome party vendors that our great city has to offer.
