Natalie Robinson is a true BOSS in every sense of the word. She works full time in banking, is full time mommy to her two beautiful kids, and runs a platform to inspire moms who feel maybe they’ve lost a little bit of themselves in motherhood. Motherhood can be so consuming and Natalie created Millennial Mommy Boss as a creative outlet, something just for her.
She’s developing her online community while cheering other mamas on as they rediscover their passions in life outside of raising babies. We’re so excited to tell you more about this awesome mom and look forward to watching everything she does with her platform!
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in Katy?
I was born and raised on the southwest side of Houston and moved to Katy in 2017 when we were expecting our first child.
You’re a mama! How many kiddos do you have and how old are they?
I have 2 amazing kids – Rylie who’s 2.5 and we just welcomed our baby boy Micah 4 months ago!
What’s your favorite thing about raising a family in the Katy area?
We love La Canterra! There are so many restaurants to choose from and we love hanging out on the lawn with other families
Greatest gift about about being a mom?
No matter what I do, I will always be the perfect mother to my kids.
Least favorite mom job? (i.e. packing lunches, dishes, bath time, etc.)
My least favorite mom job would be laundry. It’s like the clothes are never ending…if only they could fold themselves, I would be one happy mama!
Favorite local things to do in Katy/Richmond/Fulshear? (With kiddos or just for mom!)
As a family, we love the lawn at La Canterra and Thursdays at Monkey Joes. For date night, Star Cinema is a must!
Do you have a favorite family friendly restaurant in the area?
Honestly, Chick-Fil-A is our go to. Rylie loves the play place and I mean, who doesn’t love Chick-Fil-A?!?
Best mom hack that makes your life easier?
Instead of meal prepping, I clothes prep. I lay out Rylie and Micah’s clothes for the week on Sundays. This may not sound like a real hack but it makes my life a whole lot easier during the week.
Tell us about your platform, Millennial Mommy Boss! When did you start it and what was your inspo behind starting it?
So MMB is still fairly new, started back in August 2019. I became so consumed with being a mom, I forgot about what made me…me. I wanted to show other career driven moms that you can do it all and have it all, it’s just a matter of finding the right balance. I’m enjoying sharing parts of my life with others and hope to inspire other millennial moms in their motherhood journey.
You also have a full-time corporate career- can you tell us what you do?
I’m a Treasury Management Sales Officer at a bank. I help middle market commercial companies with their cash management strategies. I get to meet new people and learn new businesses every week!
How do you balance it all, mama?
I take it one day at a time. Sometimes things don’t get done and I’m completely ok with that. Family always comes first and I will never trade my time with them for anything else in the world.
How important is it for you to have a passion outside of being a mother?
It’s extremely important. That was one of the main reasons I started blogging. You have to find what moves you and drives you outside of your kids.
Name one thing you hope your kids look back and remember about their childhood and you as their mama?
I want my kids to always remember that I worked hard to give them experiences and opportunities that were unforgettable.
What would you tell the old “You” before you had kids?
Enjoy every stage in life. If you’re single, embrace it. If you’re dating, love without limits, get married and travel the world.
We are all about community, as are you! What does having a mom tribe mean to you?
Mommy friends are EVERYTHING! We all have similar challenges as moms so having a group of friends to talk to or hang with makes motherhood that much easier.
